Pol Atteu and Patrik Simpson were reportedly targeted in what has been described as an unprovoked attack early Sunday morning.

The suspect, identified as Kevin Hernandez, was arrested on Wednesday and booked on felony vandalism charges.

The incident unfolded at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Vine Street.

According to reports, Hernandez suddenly pulled his SUV in front of Atteu and Simpson's Mercedes-Benz as they approached a red light, blocking their path.

He then exited his vehicle and approached the couple, allegedly striking the driver-side door and window multiple times.

"He gave me this death glare, like, literally, I thought he was going to kill us," Simpson said following the incident.

Atteu and Simpson say they had no prior interaction with Hernandez and did nothing to trigger the confrontation. Trapped inside their car, they were unable to escape as the situation escalated.

Authorities have not yet confirmed what may have prompted the outburst or why the suspect allegedly acted so aggressively.

Speaking to the New York Post, Simpson opened up about the ordeal and the fear he experienced during the attack.

"We're grateful to law enforcement for taking swift action in this road-rage attack and for ensuring our safety by granting the order of protection," Simpson said.

"What happened that morning was extremely threatening and violent, and in the moment I truly feared for my life. No one should have to experience that kind of aggression simply driving through the streets of Hollywood."

After the incident, Hernandez allegedly fled the scene. Atteu and Simpson followed while calling 911, reporting that the suspect was driving erratically and posing a danger to others.

"We appreciate the quick response from law enforcement and hope this serves as a reminder that violent road-rage behavior has serious consequences," Atteu said.

Police documents estimate the damage to the vehicle at around $5,000. However, Atteu and Simpson later said repairs could total closer to $10,000 after a dealership inspection.
