Their relationship goes back decades: she and Linn first met on the set of a Kenny Rogers movie in the early 1990s. Years later, they reconnected while working on Young Sheldon, a spinoff of The Big Bang Theory. Nowadays, the couple can be seen together on the NBC sitcom Happy's Place.
"We're having a blast on Happy's Place and so glad to be here tonight," she said.
Reba McEntire Is A Huge Fan of 'The Golden Girls'
McEntire attended the awards show to perform a musical tribute to The Golden Girls, a show she adores.
"It's a show that you can watch forever," said McEntire.
"If you're not a fan of The Golden Girls, it would be like not liking puppies," agreed Linn.
On the red carpet, Linn shared a personal detail: he has caught the singer watching reruns of the hit sitcom from time to time. Asked about which character she relates to, McEntire's answer seemed like a no-brainer.
"I'm more like Dorothy," she said, referring to Bea Arthur's character. "I'm to-the-point, blunt."
Who Is Rex Linn?
Action movie fans will recognize Linn from his role as Richard Travers in the Sylvester Stallone thriller Cliffhanger.
The 68-year-old has appeared in numerous film and television roles ever since. He's gained a reputation as one of those actors who are familiar to audiences, even though you can't quite place where you've seen him before.
Linn Is Also a Stickler for Rehearsals
Earlier this year, we reported that Linn believes rehearsing should always come first. However, McEntire usually needs a caffeine boost before running lines.
"So we'll wake up - every morning we have 'Coffee Camp,'" the singer said. "And so, I'll go get the coffee, and he's got a script. I'm like, 'Can't we have coffee first?'"
Despite their different approaches to rehearsal, McEntire is thoroughly enjoying her time on Happy's Place and loves being on a sitcom.
"I was a huge fan of them growing up, and then getting to do the Reba show, one season of Malibu Country, and now back with the team, my producers, showrunners, doing this new show, it's just so much fun," she explained. "I love everything about it."
Of course, working with Linn every day doesn't hurt.
"He's a good guy," McEntire said. "I like him a lot."
