Eating a meal, suspended 160 feet from the ground on a hanging platform, is begging for trouble, honestly.

As diners enjoyed their meals and drinks in the elevated Puerto Rican FlyDining restaurant, things became desperate when one of the cables snapped. A video released on
Facebook shows the terrifying moment the restaurant breaks free, and swings, high above the capital city. The concept for the restaurant in the sky is simple. Suspended high above the city on cables is an open-sided bar and diner. Guests can enjoy the beautiful view of San Juan while getting drunk and eating meals. But, it's only enjoyable as long as it stays safe.
Footage shows the barman making a few drinks, thankfully wearing a harness. But, it becomes clear that something is wrong with the restaurant in the sky when he suddenly stops what he is doing. His whole attitude changes, and he tenses up. Only a second later, the whole structure lurches, and it can be seen to tip on its side.
Sky Restaurant Reassure Diners It's All Under Control
Despite the obvious technical error with the structure, the company has reassured everyone that it was all safe and secure. Despite diners and staff probably believing they were going to end up mixed in with the food waste on the pavement below, there were apparently plenty of safety precautions in place.
At over 100 feet, one of the cables had snapped. This resulted in the restaurant in the sky swinging hard into the crane arm that was supporting it. The cable in question was intended to stop the structure from swinging.
"There were no structural failures or safety risks, and all systems remained secure," the company said in a statement. However, for the terrified diners at the Sky Dining restaurant, that was obviously not immediately clear.
Since, the company has reassured people that they will not be letting diners eat above the city until all the relevant checks have been done. So, if this hasn't put you off, then they will be back up and running their Sky restaurant soon enough. Visits are available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
