Rick Astley Comes Out Of His Break To Cover... Chappel Roan?

The legend, icon, and determined lover Rick Astley has returned to grace his YouTube fans with a beautiful cover. A cover of... Chappel Roan's "Pink Pony Club."

That's right. Not something I expected, but also not something I'm complaining about.

For those who frequent TikTok or listen to mainstream radio channels, you've likely had your fill of Chappen Roan's 2024 hit "Pink Pony Club." I don't dislike the song, but boy did I hear it a lot. I didn't think I'd voluntarily hear the song ever again.

Speaking of things I never thought I'd hear from in a while, in January, the music legend said that he'd take a break this year. Staying true to that, he hadn't posted on YouTube since then, and that was the last I thought I'd hear from him for a while.

Until Rick Astley posted a cover of "Pink Pony Club."

A simple but beautiful cover, and Astley performed the song brilliantly. I mean, there was no doubt about that — it's Rick Astley.

The last cover he posted to his YouTube channel was two years ago, when he covered Chris Stapleton's "Either Way."

So, he must really like this tune to cover it on a whim.

Fans React To Rick Astley Covering "Pink Pony Club"

I only wonder what Chappel Roan herself thinks. For Rick Astley to cover a song of yours is probably the highest form of praise you can get.

The best part about this is that he performed the cover live on a whim. You can see the replay of the live chat go wild during the cover. And the even better part? He hilariously never stuck around. After the live performance, he just ends the stream.

What a legend.

Fans of Astley and Chappel Roan took to the comments to share their thoughts, jokes, and surprise.

"We've been Rick roaned," hilariously wrote one.

"She really is your favourite artists' favourite artist," another commented.

"Literally no one was expecting this but I think we all needed it," said one more.

It's an awesome cover from an awesome person.
