Riley Green is crediting his fans for his success. The singer-songwriter relies on his rapidly growing fan base to let him know if a song he wrote is a hit or not, based on their response.

"I'm certainly motivated to be better," Green says. "I mean, I've had quite a bit of success that I never thought I would have. So you look at songwriting as something that you can become better at, and do a better job at. And I think that I've always used the crowd every week to kind of help shape my songwriting - what songs do well, what lines really stand out, what I think gets this type of reaction.
"So, that's why a lot of those solo writes, or some of my bigger songs probably is because I'm seeing that every night when I go out and play a show. And it's certainly nice to be able to write songs that evoke some type of emotion."
Riley Green's 'Worst Way' Single
Green has a Top 15 single at radio right now, with "Worst Way." The song's success is likely largely to the song's steamy video. While it's understandable that fans like Green's sexy video, it's a bit surprising that one of his biggest fans of the video is his own mother.
"My mom has seen this for so long that she just enjoys it," Green says. "When we put the 'Worst Way' video out, she'll send me screenshots of some of the craziest comments. And she said that she had to tell Dad the other day when they went to church, to not bring up the video to anybody because he's so excited to talk to people about it because it was doing so well.
"And they were at some big banquet at the college I went to," he continues. "The president's wife pulled it up and put it up on a big screen. So she enjoys it. But she knows how to kind of sift through the rumors and she'll just go straight to the source if she has any real questions."
"Worst Way" is from Green's latest Don't Mind If I Do album, out in 2024.
