Riley Green Honors Willie Nelson With "One to Willie"

Riley Green has a red-hot career going these days. Today marks another milestone for the singer. He released the deluxe 24-track Don't Mind If I Do, which was his third studio LP. This new iteration of the 2024 album features a half dozen new songs. Those are "I Just Need You," "Bet They're Biting," "Make It Rain," "Cowboy As It Gets," and "What Am I Supposed To Do Now." Plus one really special treat as well. It's "One to Willie," per Whiskey Riff, "which in fact features the 'unmistakable guitar work of Willie Nelson himself,' according to a press release."

The song was written by Randy Montana, Monty Criswell, and Derek George.

The One to Willie Scale

The song asks listeners to rate themselves on the imaginary but fanciful 'One to Willie' scale. Those who know about the legendary Nelson's career and life know that he is unabashedly a boundary-breaker and his own person, So rating high on the Willie scale means you have that brash outlaw sensibility too.

The lyrics include these words. "It's a crazy life we're given / Country backroads to the city / And this ride ain't always pretty / But on a scale of one to Willie / How high are you livin'?"

It's Willie's trusty guitar that deserves some love also. Trigger, as the instrument is affectionately called, has seen its share of use. Per the outlet, "From years of being on the road and Trigger being there for thousands of shows and some pretty rowdy times too, they're an unmatched duo, really, and synonymous with Willie's indelible legacy."

Riley Green Is Also Touring Extensively

Green is on his Damn Country Music tour, which will continue until December starts. It will take him to far-flung places including Washington, Canada, England, Georgia, Louisiana, and Arizona.

He Is a Proven Fan Favorite

It's no surprise that Green is doing well. He showed his versatility and flair for fun to perfection when he was part of the charming song and video for "You Look Like You Love Me" with Ella Langley. Fans went wild for it. It's a sure bet that Green will be around for a long, long time, making music and winning over audiences.
