“You’ve Done Four Movies With Him”: Robert Downey Jr. Reveals Hilarious Brain Fart by Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow once had to ask Robert Downey Jr. who Tom Holland was, despite working on multiple movies together

If you're a movie fan, then you probably know who Tom Holland is. The English actor is a household name, having played Spider-Man in multiple Marvel movies, including "The Avengers." Yet, surprisingly, one of his co-stars in the Marvel franchise, Gwyneth Paltrow, didn't know who Holland was and needed Robert Downey Jr. to get her up to speed.

"'That's Spider-Man," Downey Jr recalls saying. "He said his name was Peter. His character's name is Peter. He's Tom Holland. You've done four movies with him.'"

The humorous anecdote was shared by Downey Jr. during a recent appearance at the Women in Entertainment Gala. Platrow was there to accept the 20th annual Sheerry Lansing Leadership Award. Downey Jr was, of course, on hand to give the speech. And while full of jokes, it was also heartfelt as he looked back on Paltrow's storied career on the big screen.

"That's why we are here," Downey Jr. said. "In an age where we so crave leadership, example, integrity, resolve, and too often folks come up short, we have here a woman that is willing to go to trial, confronting her retired optometrist accuser regarding an alleged injury on a Deer Valley ski resort slope — and comport herself so honorably that a musical theater production is born to commemorate her moral strength, intestinal fortitude, not to mention her impeccably tasteful, civil suit chic-yet-practical courtroom attire."

Gwyneth Paltrow Feels 'Lonely' Around the Holidays

Paltrow is an Oscar-winning actress. She has two children and is married to Brad Falchuk. However, when the holiday season rolls around, her achievements and family fail to stop her from feeling lonely. During a recent episode of her "Goop" podcast, Paltrow blamed Falchuk's disdain for Christmas for her lonely state during the holiday season.

"Brad is the worst," Paltrow said. "He hates Christmas music, he hates Christmas decorations, he hates roast turkey, the traditional dinner...I feel very alone in my house in my love for Christmas, although all the kids love it, so they're on my side."

Perhaps she can invite Holland and Zendaya over this year. Not only can she continue to learn about the Marvel universe, but she can also have some fresh faces to help cure her Christmas loneliness. It's a win-win, as long as she doesn't ask Holland what movies he's been in. That would get awkward.
