I have heard many songs about bad romantic experiences. Be they a toxic relationship, a bad breakup, or a bad date. But I haven't heard one as authentic yet conversational as "Airplane Bottle."

The latest single from the "F-150" hitmaker dives into a truly awful first date. In retrospect, the red flags were clear as day, but I suppose the red neon lights tinted her view at the time. Hindsight is 20:20, after all.

Between her brilliant vocals, Ottolini also speaks directly to the listener. What should come across as jarring becomes rather sincere. It feels as though you are at the bar with her as she regales you about the awful date she just had.

You can listen to "Airplane Bottle" below. It will be available on streaming platforms tomorrow.

Robyn Ottolini Wouldn't Wish Her Date On Anyone

Pretty good song, right?

In a statement shared with WOC, Ottolini delved into "Airplane Bottle." She wrote, "Airplane bottle is such a serendipitous song for me. I went on a first date in Nashville and was having the time of my life, until I wasn't. Looking back I can see the red flags, especially after writing this song 2 days later while actively processing it with my producer and friends."

"It feels so conversational and on the nose of what I went through, that I can't imagine any other melodies or lyrical changes to capture this small but huge moment in my life," she continued. The conversational tone here does bring you closer to Ottolini and her experience.

"It's very reminiscent of F-150 and how I wrote out word for word what I was feeling, and didn't hold anything back. Would I wish this date on anyone else? Never. Did I turn it into a song I love with all my heart? Of course."

Both "Airplane Bottle" and "F-150" proves that Robyn Ottolini has a good thing going approaching songs in this emotionally honest way. Not only are these songs utterly her own, but they're also solid.

Keep doing what you're doing, Ottolini, you may have another "F-150" on your hands here.
