People used to love Donald Trump before he entered the world of politics. The Apprentice was a hit show, he was rich and omnipresent enough to be in Home Alone and link up with tons of musicians. From Neil Young to Snoop Dogg, his cast of friends was abundant at the time. Rod Stewart was one of them too; the "Young Turks" crooner could even call Trump a friend at the time. However, in his quest to conquer the world of politics, the current president isolated some of his old celebrity friends in the process. Now, we add Stewart to that collection.

Recently, Rod spoke to Radio Times before he headlines Glastonbury Festival 2025. There, he makes it a point to disavow his friendship from Donald Trump. Moreover, he highlights exactly why he can't support the U.S. president today. Like most of the people that have distanced themselves from him in the past, Stewart has a conflict of morals and values in his politics. However, he specifically notes the support of Israel in their crusade against Palestinians that pulled his backing.
Rod Stewart Calls Out Trump For His Support of Israel Against Palestine
"No, I can't anymore," Stewart says when they ask if he still considers Trump a friend. "As long as he's selling arms to the Israelis, and he still is. How's that war ever gonna stop? Someone's gotta do something. What Netanyahu is doing to the Palestinians is exactly what happened to the Jews. It's annihilation, and that's all he wants to do — get rid of them all. I don't know how they sleep at night."
As far as why Rod and Trump were friends in the first place, they used to live right around the corner from one another. He's still only a stone's throw away from the president's Mar-a-Lago resort. Additionally, Stewart notes the things that he liked and some of the red flags too. "I live literally half a mile away. We're both on the beach. I used to go to his Christmas parties. He's always been a bit of a man's man. I liked him for that," Rod admits. "He didn't, as far as I'm concerned, treat women very well. But since he became president, he became another guy. Somebody I didn't know."
