We finally have an update on the state of Ronnie McDowell. Recently, he suffered a medical emergency while performing at a show in East Pennsylvania. In a Instagram post, his son Tyler informs everyone that he's rushing to his father's aid. "Thanks everyone, for the love. I'm heading to Pennsylvania now—I didn't go with them on this run," he writes of his dad Ronnie. "Seeing these headlines on social media is what I've always dreaded. It's like a nightmare. Scans are in the morning. If praying's your thing, I'd appreciate it."

Now, another one of the country great's sons provides us with an update. He's headed to surgery.

His son Ronnie McDowell Jr. takes to

Facebook, where he lets friends, family, and fans know what's going on with his dad. He starts off by saying that the country crooner is released from the hospital. Then, after apologizing for his silence, he lets everyone know that his dad did in fact suffer a 'mini stroke' onstage. "I knew something wasn't right as I had his vocals in my in ear monitor and I could hear him slurring his words and forgetting the words to his songs that he has sang for many years," Ronnie Jr. says.

The worries really start to worry him when his dad "wasn't ok" and that he might've been suffering a stroke. The promoter rushes to get an EMT and they confirm what they were already expecting. "The Doctors told him that he will need surgery in the next few weeks. They do want him to take it easy but they said that he can perform and workout in the next few days. He was so happy about that," Ronnie Jr. adds.

Ronnie's son ends the post by thanking everyone from God to all the supporters and that they'll let everyone know how the surgery goes.
