Ahmad Hardy has reportedly been shot while attending a concert in Missouri. The running back, who has been projected as a future first-round pick, is in a stable condition following surgery.

The University of Missouri has since released a statement regarding the incident involving their star running back.
"Ahmad is deeply loved by his teammates, coaches, friends, family and fans," the statement reads, via TMZ. "We will continue to stand beside him and his family through this difficult time, offering our love, prayers, strength and support."
According to ESPN, there's hope that Hardy will be able to resume his playing career at some point.
"Hardy is alert Monday and moving around, a source told ESPN's Pete Thamel, and there's optimism that he will play football again," ESPN reported. "How quickly he can return and the impact, however, has yet to be determined."
Following the shooting, the Missouri Tigers announced there is no timeline for Hardy's return to any football activities with the program.
There are currently no details regarding the shooting. An investigation is likely already underway.
"Mizzou Athletics will provide more information on his status when it becomes available," the university statement concluded.
Ahmad Hardy Is a Star Running Back in the SEC
Hardy recently completed the second season of his collegiate career. His first year came with Louisiana-Monroe, where he suited up for 12 games, attempting 237 rushes for 1351 yards. He scored 14 touchdowns as a freshman.
Following a stellar freshman season, Hardy transferred to the Missouri Tigers, where he shone in his sophomore year, earning an All-American selection in the process. The talented running back ended the season with 256 rushes, going for 1649 yards. He scored 16 touchdowns and made 6 receptions for a total of an extra 22 yards.
Hardy was also named the SEC Newcomer of the Year following his standout season. As such, there were high expectations regarding his future, with many believing he had the talent to be a potential first-round selection in a future NFL Draft.
Hopefully, Hardy can get his career back on track in the future. For now, though, his focus will undoubtedly be on making a full recovery.
