'American Idol' Legend Is Getting Divorced After 16 Years

When you think of high-profile people associated with American Idol, you probably think first of superstar judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. But there is a mastermind behind the scenes who has a lot to do with the successful singing contest show. That would be Simon Fuller. Right now, he is making news of his own, and it isn't exactly the kind he wants. Fuller and his wife of 16 years, Natalie, are splitting, per popculture.com.

Their divorce is already hitting the headlines. According to the outlet via TMZ, "Natalie Fuller filed paperwork last Friday to end their 16-year union. Natalie lists the day of her filing as the date of separation."

Fuller will be 65 years old on May 17.

The familiar but unspecific explanation of "irreconcilable differences" was cited by the soon-to-be-ex Mrs. Fuller. She and Simon have three children - twins who are 9 plus a 14-year-old. Per the outlet, "Natalie wants joint legal custody of the kids. She is also asking the judge to award her spousal support...." The couple does not appear to have a prenuptial agreement

He seems to have a knack for these singing competition shows. In addition, he has another impressive credential on his resume. Fuller was the manager for successful stars like Annie Lennox, the Spice Girls, and Amy Winehouse. Four tears ago, he earned a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in honor of his amazing career in entertainment. He also has 14 Emmy noms to his credit.

He Has An Exciting New Project In The Works

Per the outlet via South China Morning Post, Fuller is looking for the next singing sensation in Hong Kong. That fortunate individual will be part of a pop group called Now United. Fuller shared, "Hong Kong opened my eyes to Asia, this is a magnificent city with deep cultural roots. If you introduce entertainment with sport, it brings more audience and makes it more aspirational and contemporary, attracting more females and younger people."

Fuller added that the person chosen should possess "optimism and aspirational values."
