Her family released a

touching tribute via Facebook.

"Throughout her life, Béatrice managed to balance her family life with her passion for the performing arts and the causes close to her heart," the tribute read. "It seemed only natural to share this news with her friends, her colleagues in the arts community, and, above all, with her audience, for whom she had a thought until the very end."

Despite her role on The Simpsons and the undoubted success she had as a voice actress, Picard was a versatile talent. It was only in 2023 that she made a cameo appearance on the big screen in the film Frontieres.

What's even more impressive is that at the age of 87, Picard was still working on the theatre stage, where she played a role in Harold et Maude at Theatre Duceppe.

Picard's talent was seen in multiple forms throughout her decades-long career. Her knowledge and talent ensured her longevity, while her role as Marge made her a well-known voice to multiple generations of children.

Beatrice Picard Began Her Career in the 40s

According to The Canadian Press, Picard began her career on Canadian radio plays. Just a few years later, she became a regular on television, primarily with short-term roles. Of course, those smaller roles quickly led to leading roles, where she began stepping into long-running shows. On the side, Picard would also work in theatres.

However, it wasn't until the 70s that Picard began to work in movies. And 20 years later, her journey with The Simpsons began.

Even while voicing Marge, Picard will still participate in other projects on the side. She was relentless in the pursuit of her art and clearly worked for so long due to her love of acting, regardless of what form she was participating in.

Picard's funeral and service will likely be a closed-off affair. After decades of bringing joy and laughter to the world, now it's time for her family to say a final goodbye in privacy. The world lost an amazing talent, but Picard will live on through her immense catalogue of work throughout the years.
