'SNL' Star Gave Away Free Beer After New Partnership

Colin Jost, SNL star, went around last night to give out free beer to his favorite bars. I hope you like Blue Moon, because that's what was on offer.

The Weekend Update star wasn't just handing out Blue Moon for the love of the game, however. He has been inducted as the brand's first celebrity partner. To celebrate, he hit up his favorite spots in Staten Island.

If you're only catching this today, then it's too late, I'm afraid. Colin Jost has gone home. If he decides to do this again, however, I'll try to report on it before he goes out.

Last night, July 24, Jost visited Jody's Club Forest, Kettle Black, and O'Neill's Restaurant & Bar to buy one free Blue Moon for anyone who wanted in. So if you wanted to know Jost's favorite Staten Island bars, there you go.

You can expect Colin Jost to be the face of Blue Moon for a little while. For the partnership, he's been involved in a couple of commercials, so expect to see them airing.

In a press release apparently shared exclusively with PEOPLE, they did this "because no beer outshines a Blue Moon, especially on Colin's home turf."

Despite the deliberate wording, Colin Jost wasn't actually going around to these bars and physically buying a Blue Moon to anyone who asked politely. So it's unknown really if Colin Jost went out of pocket for personally.

He did visit one location, however. Not that anywhere will say where. I suppose it's an industry secret and I'm not in on it. Do they not know who I am?

Colin Jost Injects Signature Humor In Blue Moon Ads

I hate adverts. But I'll tolerate them when they're funny. Or, at the very least, if they're somewhat entertaining to sit through.

And the two Blue Moon adverts that Colin Jost is partaking in have the exact humor you'd expect from him. Whether this is a bad thing or not depends on whether you find the guy funny.

One ad has him talking to two oranges that turn out to not be alive. It has the whole 'I swear they were talking to me' gimmick, complete with an expressionless witness to his apparent insanity. The other does the whole 'Am I in-frame?' gimmick, complete with a boom mic.

So it's classic Colin Jost humor that's alright to watch once, but boy am I glad they're airing over here in the U.K.
