Cancer has a way of uprooting your life completely. Your life is never the same after such a terrifying diagnosis. However, country singer and songwriter Paul Cauthen doesn't plan on stopping his career because of a doctor's suggestions. Rather, this is merely a bump in the road for him. Now, he's candidly expressing what he went through in the time beforehand and his plans for the future.

Recently, Cauthen took to Instagram after cancelling his tour and taking a break from social media. There, he explains that he didn't just disappear without good reason. Unfortunately, he explains how he suffered through pneumonia while on tour and his health slowly began to decline afterwards. "I was taking a bunch of steroids to get me through those shows," Paul explains. "Something woke me up and I was blue in my lips and white in my face. It just scared the hell out of me."
Paul Cauthen Explains How Cancer Diagnosis Made Him Cancel His Tour
Cauthen immediately goes home after such a significant health scare. After taking some time to recover at home, he checks himself into the Cooper Clinic in Dallas, Texas. There, they go through a litany of scans to end up finding cancer in his thyroid. Consequently, Paul finds it more crucial than ever to be grateful for everyday in his life. "They told me that it is papillary carcinoma and that it's cancer," he explains. "I have had a lot of time to reflect and realize that life is short and precious."
By the end of it all, Cauthen sincerely thanks his fans for understanding and supporting despite such a sudden tour cancellation. Additionally, he emphasizes that this isn't him calling it quits. Contrarily, he believes that he has a higher calling that necessitates him being on stage. "I'm not done by any means," Paul declares. "And I know that I'm a vessel on stage and that God has me here for a reason."
