Scott wears her musical influences on her sleeve, and there's a lot of them. Scott draws from a plethora of genres to define her musical style and also as just a fan. Speaking with Wide Open Country, she explained her biggest artists, "Starting with the rock side, I really like the Rolling Stones. From the soul, I was a big Mariah Carey/Whitney fan — TLC. Then country, Shaniah Twain, The Chicks, LeAnne Rimes, Loretta Lynn, and then I also love my songwriters like James Taylor and Joni Mitchell."

However, if there's one artist that Scott relates to more than any other then it's Shania Twain. The singer called Twain the "north star" of her career. Scott recognizes that Twain paved the path for artists like her to follow in the industry.

Sophia Scott Talks Shania Twain

She said, "Shania is like my north star of an artist. Because I feel like she did a lot of breaking down barriers and she ruffled feathers sort of in the beginning. But then she sort of paved the way and made her own sound and her own thing. That's the goal!"

Meanwhile, Scott is drawing from an unlikely source for career goals. In 2021, Scott got the chance to open for the Jonas Brothers. It was a lifechanging experience for her.

She said, "It was amazing. It was interesting because it was also during Covid. There was a lot of regulations around it. Which I imagine doing it at this point would be a lot different. But it was so cool. I had never played at that big of a stage. And I was really just thrown into the ring. But it was really cool."

It lit a fire in her as an artist. She wants to draw that sort of crowd as a headliner and be the main act.

She said, "I think it was just this is where I want to be. Doing this myself. And not being the opener but being the headliner. Being on that stage and manifesting the work it would take to be there is probably the biggest lesson. I don't know if it was a lesson, but it was the biggest goal from that experience."
