When it comes to Landman, well, one of the wildest Season 1 storylines wasn't entirely fictional. In fact, it was inspired by the real-life antics of Taylor Sheridan's wife.

Actress Ali Larter, who plays Angela Norris on the Paramount+ drama, recently shared that the retirement home scenes -- featuring booze, dancing, and a field trip to a strip club -- were based on Nicole Sheridan's real-world efforts to bring joy to seniors.
"She does that," Larter told The Hollywood Reporter. "She plays games and sets up a bar for them. Nicole has really opened up this world of the way that we can see senior citizens, how we can treat them and have fun with them, and how little effort it takes to bring so much happiness to someone's life."

In Landman, Angela and her teenage daughter Ainsley start spending time at a local retirement home. Their mission: shake up the residents' daily routine. As the season progresses, they introduce card games, cocktails, and unconventional activities.
Eventually, they rent a small party bus and take the seniors on a night out. The destination? A nearby strip club. While the women perform dances for the men, one elderly woman -- Ethel, played by Louanne Stephens -- feels excluded.
As a result, Ainsley convinces her high school boyfriend to do a strip tease for Ethel. It's a moment that blends comedy and heart, but more surprisingly, it's rooted in reality.
While Nicole Sheridan likely hasn't arranged any stripteases, she has taken seniors on entertaining excursions. Her Instagram shows photos from one such outing to the Cowgirl Museum.
Who is Nicole Sheridan?
Nicole Muirbrook Sheridan is more than just Taylor Sheridan's wife. The 42-year-old actress, model, and equestrian married the Yellowstone creator in 2013. Together, they have a 14-year-old son named Gus.
Originally from Utah, Nicole gained attention for a role in How I Met Your Mother and for gracing multiple magazine covers. Additionally, she's a competitive rider who won a team cutting competition in 2020. Many of her social media posts show her and Taylor on horseback.
'Landman' Moving Forward
Landman was created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, and is based on Wallace's Boomtown podcast. The show dives into the high-stakes world of oil exploration in West Texas.
Billy Bob Thornton stars as Tommy Norris, a landman for a powerful oil company. His character deals with out-of-town lawyers, workplace accidents, and the rough realities of the oilfield industry.
The series premiered on Nov. 17, 2024, and was renewed for a second season in March 2025. Since then, it has drawn attention for its blend of gritty drama and unexpected humor.
And thanks to Nicole Sherican, Landman proves that even retirement homes can be full of surprises.
