Fans of Oasis (siblings Liam and Noel Gallagher) probably thought they would never see them in concert again. Bickering got the better of them, as it often does with many bands. To their followers' endless delight, they gave a concert in Cardiff, Wales, on Friday, July 4, which was opening night for Oasis' Live 25 tour. It's the band's first tour in 16 years, making it even more special. However, the exciting event at Principality Stadium was nearly overshadowed by potential violence. Per American Songwriter, "A 17-year Welsh boy has admitted to a criminal charge after authorities uncovered his plan to attack fans at the first Oasis reunion gig."

Eerie Similarities To A Previous Violent Attack
The boy - whose name was not made public because of his age - allegedly was trying to do something similar to a lethal attack last year in Southport, England. Three young girls were slain there "at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class." The perpetrator, Axel Rudakubana, was also 17. Information on the Oasis person's phone reportedly indicated that he also intended "to target a dance school near his home in Cwmbran, South Wales."
How Authorities Allegedly Became Aware Of The Boy's Chilling Plan
Per the outlet via The Times, the alleged plotter did research on how to get knives to use in the attack. He reportedly seemed to admire the Southport slayer when he talked with his peers on Snapchat. According to the outlet, "One of these people reported him to the police."
According to Billboard, the planned attack was also revealed to law enforcement by the boy's guidance counselor.
The teen met with a mental health expert, per American Songwriter. He allegedly said he intended "to commit a "Rudakubana-style attack."
Furthermore, the boy had the same lengthy document "useful for terrorism" that Rudakubana had. The teen supposedly shared with someone on Snapchat that he tried to make a poisonous substance called ricin, which Rudakubana made. The boy reportedly denied that to law enforcement, however.
The teen "admitted to a single charge" of having that document. He was in Westminster Magistrates' Court last month. The boy has to undergo a psychiatric exam prior to his sentencing.
