I can't believe I'm saying this, but snakes are once again eating people. I'll give you a moment to process that information. A python, already one of God's most terrifying creations, ate a person. A full-sized, adult, human being. I promise you, I also wish I were kidding.

Apparently out in Indonesia, these monstrous pythons have been hanging around Rubber Factories. Recently, a 66-year-old grandmother was walking home from work. I might wait for a buddy when walking next to the dense jungle, but hey, she lives and works there. What do I know?
(Author's note: a 26-foot snake has not eaten me.)
(Second Author's note: I live in a suburban neighborhood so maybe not a fair comparison.)
Python Swallows Granny

As this wonderful old lady was making her way home, something that I thought only happened in nightmares happened to her. She was jumped by a 26-foot-long snake. If you are having as much trouble as I was understanding how long 26 feet is, here are some other examples:
A blue whale. (the biggest animals to exist right now.)
A giraffe. (From horns to hooves.)
A medium-sized fishing boat.
Some RVs.
So, as you can see, this is a terrifyingly long snake that grappled this unsuspecting old lady to the ground and swallowed her whole. Looking for more nightmare fuel? The cause of her death was the crushing that happened as she was swallowed. I apologize for what happens in your dreams later tonight.
Family Finds Snake
After this woman was kidnapped via snake mouth and didn't make it home, her family went out looking for her, according to Daily Mail. Now I don't mean to be rude. I'm sure if my grandmother didn't return home from work, I would go out searching for her too. But in a missing persons case, going out to search for a body in the middle of the night feels all sorts of wrong. Who knows what her family members were about to find out there?
Oh, wait, we know exactly what they found. A 26-foot-long python with a bulge in its stomach at nine pm. Oh, my next thought? Run and scream. But this family is way cooler-headed than I am. They hacked this thing open just to make sure the python had actually consumed the grandmother and not just 'tried a new look'.
As her son explained, "'At first we were worried because she didn't come home, even in the afternoon. We were concerned she had become lost or injured herself at work. Then we looked for her in the plantation until around 9 pm, when we found a large python lying still on the grass. This was devastating. I know it was a painful death for my mother."
He added, "Even though the snake is dead, it is no consolation. It will never bring her back. Now, we are saying prayers for her to be at peace."
Stay safe out there folks.
