You know it's finally Spring in the great state of Texas when the bluebonnets are in full bloom. Known as the Texas state flower, many people look forward to posting pictures of the first bloom of the season. However, this year is a bit different. A new social media challenge started by Texas police officers is taking the internet by storm and by golly you have to see it.

Various police departments across the state have taken part in the bluebonnet challenge using the hashtag #BackTheBLUEbonnets.
The new challenge asks members of law enforcement to pose in a field of bluebonnets and post it online. The photos can be silly or informative, it's completely up to creativity. Some officers have used the platform to share tips on anti-littering and how to take safe photos while others talk about events in the community.
