The 'American Idol' Contestant Luke Bryan Said Proved Him Wrong

You would think that after so many years working on American Idol, Luke Bryan would know it all, but he can still be proven wrong here and there.

Sometimes a judge can make a bad call on an American Idol singer, and sometimes a singer can just have an off day. For John Foster, a combination of the two had Luke Bryan doubting his suitability for the show.

Initially, Luke Bryan had been hesitant to put him forward to the next round. He wasn't sure if he had what it took to go to Hollywood. His voice, in the opinion of Bryan, wasn't quite up to par. But John Foster made it through anyway and eventually proved the judge wrong.

"I was doing my TikTok scroll daily, and I saw a clip of me saying I didn't know if you could sing good enough back in your audition," Bryan said after Foster sang on Monday night. He had belted out George Strait's 'I Cross My Heart.' The rendition was an impressive one, and it had certainly wowed the American Idol judges.

"Man, no one has ever proved me more wrong than you," he finished. Foster had proven that he was worthy of his position on American Idol and earned his stripes from Luke Bryan.

Still Everything To Fight For In 'American Idol'

Just because John Foster made it through into the final 7, it doesn't mean it's plain sailing from here. There are still a few more challenging weeks left for the final contestants to prove their worth. Showmanship, individuality, and serious vocal chops will all have to be out in full force for the American Idol hopefuls.

For John Foster, I feel he may need to adopt a stage name to avoid being one of the most forgettable people I have ever heard. However, Luke Bryan is a fan, telling him, "You've kind of been a wildcard for me the whole time, but what you just did there removed all doubts in my mind that you deserve to be here."

He may have a boring name, but he has a voice that gets the American Idol judges going, and that's all that matters.
