The Bachelorette could be staring down the barrel of a lawsuit. According to TMZ, five contestants from the now-cancelled Season 22 are considering legal action against ABC and Warner Bros. Discovery.

"We're told the 5 contestants also feel like Warner Bros. Discovery—which produced the show—created an unsafe working environment by allowing Frankie Taylor Paul—who has clearly shown flashes of violence in the past—to interact with them in intimate settings," TMZ reported.
Harvey Levin and Mark Geragos, who were speaking via the "2 Angry Men" podcast, discussed the potential for lawsuits to be filed. Some of the impacted contestants could take legal action.
"So she was the bachelorette, and there were a number of male contestants vying for her love," Harvey and Mark said. "Many of these contestants quit their jobs or gave up a promotion or some kind of financial opportunity to go on the show for as long as three months."
The duo then explained why the contestants could potentially have a case should they take ABC and Warner Bros. Discovery to court.
"They put their lives on hold to go on the show, relying on the fact that the show would air, they would benefit in various ways— from being on the show," they continued. "And now, three days before the show is supposed to air, it's yanked. And it's yanked because of the video we posted and really the underlying criminal conduct of Taylor Frankie Paul that led to this guilty plea."
Why Was 'The Bachelorette' Cancelled?
ABC recently made the decision to cancel Season 22 of The Bachelorette. Their decision came after video footage of Taylor Frankie Paul seemingly attacking her ex-partner, Dakota Mortensen, emerged online.
"One source says Dakota even called the police that night. But the new 'Bachelorette' star convinced him to change his story and tell cops all was good. She apologized and even returned to Dakota's home the following night," TMZ reported.
Unfortunately, that decision from ABC will have sizeable financial ramifications. The show is set to lose millions by canceling the series. If lawsuits do become a reality, it could potentially be catastrophic for the show. For now, though, most of us just want to know when Season 23 will begin filming.
