Vince Gill has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1991, so it's only fitting that he helped usher in a new era. As part of the Opry's year-long 100th year celebration, Gill helped unveil a brand-new microphone during a recent performance. The new microphone is only the fifth design used since 1925.

Ahead of the unveiling, both members and performers can be seen backstage helping with the big reveal, including Riley Green, Jelly Roll, Steven Curtis Chapman, Scotty McCreery and more.

"This celebration of 100 years is all about celebrating our past and opening wide the doors to the next century of music, and these stands will be a testament to that for as long as they are featured on the Opry stage."
Vince Gill's 50th Anniversary Celebration
Like the Grand Ole Opry, Gill is also celebrating a big milestone in 2025. The 67-year-old is celebrating 50 years this year as a touring musician. And fittingly, Gill is celebrating by hitting the road. He will embark on his An Evening With Vince Gill Tour, kicking off on May 8 in Rochester, New York.
"I left home 50 years ago to try and become an accomplished musician and perform in front of whoever would show up," Gill says. "All these years later, it feels as special today as it ever did."
Before Gill can start his own tour, he has several more shows with the Eagles. Gill joined the iconic band in 2017, taking the place left vacant when Glenn Frey passed away. It was Don Henley who invited Gill, an invitation he gladly accepted.
"Don told me in confidence, 'You're the only guy I wanted, that I would have done this with,'" Gill says. "Which meant the world to me."
"I've been wise in knowing when and when not to speak ... I'm just trying to do my part to keep some great songs afloat," he adds.
