The Hilarious Regret Megan Moroney Has About Meeting Keith Urban

Talk about a bucket-list moment for Megan Moroney. The rising star sold out two nights at Nashville's Pinnacle venue, joined for the second night by Keith Urban. Although thrilled, she jokingly admitted she had a regret about meeting Urban afterwards.

"I forgot to tell Keith Urban that Blue IS my favorite color. I have regrets," she writes. Moroney is of course referring to Urban's 2016 hit, "Blue Ain't Your Color."

Moroney's performance in Music City was part of her headlining Am I Okay? Tour, which kicked off last month. The tour's name is also the title of Moroney's sophomore album, with the title track her current Top 10 single.

How Megan Moroney's Career Began

Moroney is a big, big fan of Urban. But it's another artist, namely Chase Rice, who Moroney -- and her fans -- can thank for her having a career at all.

It all began when Moroney was a student at the University of Georgia. Moroney was part of the Kappa Delta sorority, who had hired Jon Langston to perform for them, as part of a charity event. Blowing their entire budget on Langston, Moroney agreed to open for Langston, for free.

Rice was in the audience to see Langston, and was immediately blown away by Moroney. He offered her a gig opening for him, but with one stipulation.

"He was like, 'Why don't you open for me next month?'"Moroney recalls to Glamour. "He was like, 'The only thing is that you have to write a song.'"

Moroney at that point had never written a song. But not one to step away from a challenge, she agreed, and her love of songwriting was born.

"I was like, Well, this is what I'm going to do with my life,'" she remembers thinking. "I don't know how I'm going to figure it out, but I will."

Still, Moroney admits she could have never, ever imagined how far she would go after pursuing a career in country music.

"I wasn't like, I'm going to be this country music superstar," Moroney shares. "My brain just never went there. It was just like, I know that my plan after college is to move to Nashville."
