The Internet Is Outraged Over a Clip of Marcus King’s Wife Singing, but Not for the Reason You Think

Briley King, the wife of songwriter Marcus King, is a deep well of talent.

The night after they met, Marcus told Briley to "quit her job and marry" him instead. She went ahead and created her own company after the duo tied the knot.

Little Bird Trucking specializes in handcrafted trucker caps. Inspired by life on the road with her husband and her trucker father, Briley sometimes crafts more than 200 hats a day.

She can always be seen sporting her hats on her social media, as they seem to go with everything Briley wears. Post Malone and Lainey Wilson can often be seen donning one.

Briley is also a hell of a singer. She can be heard singing backup on Marcus' "Delilah," and sometimes joins him on stage for covers like "Goodbye Carolina" and "Joy of My Life."

Then there's this viral clip of her singing "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia." It's a stunner.

It's garnered 8 million views and a million likes, with fans imploring Briley to take her talent to the studio. However, it's also getting attention for another reason.

People Don't Want Others To Share the Briley King Video

After the clip went viral, users then found a video of Briley performing the national anthem at a 2022 rally in Selma, North Carolina, for then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.

This took place before Briley (whose maiden name was Hussey) married Marcus. It's not known if Briley endorsed a candidate in the 2024 election.

However, many people have taken to social media, imploring others not to share the clip due to her perceived affiliation with President Trump.

What Did Users Say About the Clip?

There are plenty of fans who want the Kings to release a Christmas album. However, those commenting on the clips opposed to Briley also had some interesting things to say.

"wait.....this is actually the worst news i've ever heard"

"my hearts broken. i didn't know this about her"

"It's unfortunate but it does have to be this way! She is a great vocalist & is very talented, but I can choose not to listen or support"

"Omg devastated to learn this."

"I followed her immediately after hearing it, then saw the comments & proof. UNFOLLOWED!"

"when I tell you I had to take my video in supportive this song down expeditiously because absolutely not."

Judging from these comments, it seems that wearing a Little Bird Trucking hat may not be advisable at this time.
