The Physical Toll Tim McGraw Says Writing All Those 'Yellowstone' Episodes Puts On Taylor Sheridan

I have to admit: Taylor Sheridan seems a little insane. He's a man of seemingly a million shows. Despite Yellowstone itself finally ending last year, the buck doesn't stop there. He has plenty of ideas swirling around about how to extend that universe. Take any remaining character and revolve it around them. He's even gone the prequel route and explored how the Dutton family got their name. This isn't even including the fact that Landman season 2 is coming out soon, too.

After a while, it begs the question: Does Taylor Sheridan ever get any sleep? The sheer volume of television that he is producing is mind-boggling at this point. He might even be working on things we don't even know about yet, too. Will he ever take a vacation? Where does the Yellowstone mastermind find the time to take a nap? Apparently, according to country crooner and 1883 actor Tim McGraw, he doesn't very much.

Tim McGraw Says Taylor Sheridan Barely Gets Any Sleep Due to Writing Yellowstone

Recently, McGraw spoke with Tracy Lawrence on his Road House podcast. There, he talks about a myriad of moments throughout his professional and private life. However, one point led him to his acting career, particularly in working with Taylor Sheridan on 1883. Lawrence has the same question we all do: how does he pull it all off? Since he does it all himself, he sacrifices time in bed to get all his work done.

"He certainly has a team, but he is the writer. He's the writer. I'm telling you, he is one of the most incredible writers ever," McGraw says of Sheridan. "And he'll go three or four weeks in a row without sleeping and write. He'll just stop writing, and then he'll write, and then he'll stop writing, and then he'll write."

Still, it seemingly doesn't sacrifice any of the quality. It certainly impressed McGraw and his wife, Faith Hill, after reading the scripts from Sheridan. "When we got the scripts in, it was so poetic, the writing was just so incredible that it was hard to say no to. But that's how talented he is, he's doing some great work, great stuff," McGraw adds.
