The Surprising Way Jelly Roll And His Crew Passes The Time Backstage

Backstage antics of stars like Jelly Roll are usually best kept secret, but some of them are wholesome enough to be shared.

For a touring superstar like Jelly Roll, what happens backstage stays backstage. There must be countless parties, hijinks, and more to be reported on. However, one of the ways they spend their time, he revealed, is by playing dice.

It's an innocent enough way to spend backstage time and is a fun pastime while having a few drinks. While touring with Mr Roll, Kolby Cooper remembered when he witnessed them playing for the first time. "His crew and all of his boys, after the show were back there rolling dice and I walked up and I was like 'How do we do this?'" Cooper said. "They were like, 'Hop in!"

So, he took a seat, and they taught him how to roll dice. It's simple enough once you learn the rules. Of course, the back stage dice was just the warm up for the party, Cooper recalled. "I learned how to play dice, so that was fun. I mean, we partied pretty hard too, so I don't remember much."

It's not all board games and green tea backstage for Jelly Roll. He may be working on his health, but he still has time to party.

Keeping The Buy-In Fair

There is no doubt that as well as Jelly Roll may pay his backstage crew, there's no way they're as loaded as him. So, he has a way of gambling that keeps it all fair. He bets bigger, and the rest bet 10x less. That way, it stays exciting for him, and nobody gets left out.

"I'll put up my $50 bucks to his $500," Cooper revealed. What a good guy. But he's known for being generous with his hard-earned superstar money. In the past, Jelly Roll has been known for handing out big tips to people who deserve them. He gave a $1000 tip to a fan at a drive-thru, making their whole week.

I'm sure there is a lot that can't be brought up in a regular interview about Jelly Roll and his backstage antics. But for now, it's good to know he likes to roll a few dice to unwind.
