The news was announced via a new trailer for the upcoming season.

"Sometimes I see great singers fall through the cracks," Daly says. "And I've never been able to do anything about it until right now."

This season, Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, Niall Horan and Snoop Dogg are serving as coaches. Thae Carson Callback isn't the only surprise in the clip. Bublé also shows off his socks, which are adorned with McEntire's face. Meanwhile, McEntire shows the entire audience fanning themselves with fans with her face on those as well.

Reba McEntire Returns For This Season Of 'The Voice'

McEntire appeared in Seasons 24 to 26 of The Voice, taking the space left vacant when Blake Shelton exited the show. In Season 27, Kelsea Ballerini filled her spot, but McEntire is now eager to return for Season 28.

McEntire was actually offered the role first, before Shelton. When she declined, he took on the role. But the timing was right after he exited for the Country Music Hall of Fame member to fill his shoes.

"I was really dreading it at first because I don't want to tell anybody they suck," McEntire says (via People). "I passed on it years ago when it first came over from Holland. And I said, 'I can't tell somebody, don't give up your day job.' I'm not gonna do that!"

"We're nice people," she adds. "We encourage. We lift up."

McEntire was also encouraging of Ballerini, when she took McEntire's place. Ballerini later revealed the sweet note McEntire left for her.

"Dear Kelsea, I heard you would be the new coach this season, and I'm just so excited for you," Ballerini recalls (via People). "It's up to you to keep country alive on the show and I know you'll do a terrific job. Now go out there and show those boys who's the boss."
