At the time, the reason for his hospitalization was for "medical reasons." Chesnutt's band performed in his place.
Of course, fans expressed concern for Chesnutt, who has a history of health issues. On Friday, doctors continued treating him for a "low sodium count and extreme high blood pressure," according to his management company's interview with The Eastern New Mexico News, so they could run additional tests.
This led the "Brother Jukebox" to cancel a headlining appearance at the One Portales Wine, Beer and Music Festival in Portales, New Mexico, on Saturday, Oct. 18.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mark Chesnutt will no longer be able to perform at the One Portales Wine, Beer and Music Festival," organizers announced on social media. "We unfortunately will have to cancel the event. Refunds will be emailed to all ticket buyers in the upcoming days. We apologize for this cancellation and hope to bring another high-quality act to Portales in the future."
We have another update on Chesnutt to share.
