Before the "Anywhere with You" singer explained the situation, he apologized to his mom for the profanity used in his video

People are still hating on Jake Owen's Cybertruck.

As we previously reported, the "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" singer shared a story on social media about how someone got upset with him for driving the divisive electric vehicle.

"I pull up to Starbucks, and this guy's kind of staring at me funny," he said. "I get out. He's like, 'Is that yours, that Cybertruck?' I'm like, 'Yeah, I mean, I am driving it.' He goes, 'F**k you, traitor.'"

Owen continued, "I swear. I was like, 'What?' This is before we went in. Anyways, if you want to get picked on, drive a cyber truck. If you don't want to get picked on, just go back to the 2000 Toyota 4Runner."

Jake Owen Started With An Apology to His Mom

Owen captioned his latest Cybertruck update, which he posted on July 24, with an apology to his mother:

"Dear Mom, I'm very sorry for the profanity involved in the making of this video. I did not say it, they did. I'm just out here reading the news."

Then Owen shared his story from the inside of his "cyber vehicle." It involved a dinner date with his daughter, Pearl, who was in the Cybertruck as he told the story, and another unnamed friend.

"On our way out, I was explaining to them, I said, 'I think I might have to get rid of this Cybertruck,'" Owen shares in the video. "They were like, 'Why?'"

Owen then admitted that it does "look a little ridiculous." Then he went on to explain the hate he was getting for driving it.

There Was a Note on the Windshield

After explaining why he might not keep the Cybertruck, Owen noticed a note on his windshield. He thought maybe it was somebody being nice. He was absolutely wrong.

The note read: "This car makes you look so f*****g stupid." A hand-drawn heart was placed below the message.

"They signed it with love," said Owen with a smile.

Now we understand why Owen had to apologize to his mother. He wasn't too thrilled about his daughter seeing the f-word either.

"This is getting ridiculous, guys," he said.

Due to these incidents, Owen has begun to reconsider his current vehicle choice. However, he holds no ill will toward whoever left the note.

"I'll hug you the next time I see you," he says. "I promise I'm a good dude."

He also adds, "But maybe I do look stupid."
