This week, Parker McCollum decided to give fans something different from the kind of music he usually puts out. With the holiday season approaching, artists like Brad Paisley and Trisha Yearwood have started teasing upcoming Christmas albums. McCollum, however, decided he's going to choose a different holiday to focus on this year.

In a recent TikTok, McCollum put his phone in front of a mirror in what looks like his tour bus. He told viewers, "Alright, so everybody always makes Christmas music, loves Christmas music." Then things took a turn.
"Nobody ever makes Thanksgiving music as far as I know. I'm sure somebody has to some extent. So I thought I'd give y'all a little Thanksgiving song that I wrote." The "What Kinda Man" singer proceeded to sing a tune that, at least melodically, sounds a lot like "Santa Baby". However, the lyrics are a little different in McCollum's version.
"Sweet potato, brown sugar, butter, and cream for me / I eat it on Thanksgiving / Sweet potato, hurry to my tummy tonight / Hurry to my tummy tonight."
One fan commented, joining in on the fun, "As the person responsible for the sweet potato casserole, this is a bop actually."
Parker McCollum Is One To Watch
Right now, Parker McCollum is promoting his self-titled album, Parker McCollum, on his tour, which extends into 2026. McCollum first gained notoriety as a teenager in Austin, Texas, writing and releasing projects like "Highway" and A Red Town View.
His second album, Probably Wrong, earned him a spot on Billboard, which led to him signing with MCA Nashville. Through MCA, he released his first No. 1, "Pretty Heart".
In 2021, he shared with People how he was feeling about his progression as an artist so far, and how he wanted his success to be something he earned himself. "I wanted to do it the hard way. I really wanted to earn it. I didn't want anybody to be able to say anybody bought me anything," he said.
McCollum always seems to be challenging himself, even when he's doing more than other country artists could even imagine. The singer, now 33, said of his most recent project, "This album is the best that it's ever going to get for me. We recorded it in October and I'm ready for people to hear it... It's interesting because this is the first album that I don't really care if people like it or not because I love it so much."
