This Fan-Favorite Sprite Flavor Is Back for a Limited Time, but There’s a Major Catch

Last year, Sprite fans could quench their thirst in a whole new, refreshing way. That's when the seasonal flavor Vanilla Frost was introduced. The mix of lemon, lime, and vanilla quickly became a fan-favorite.

"Sprite Vanilla Frost combines the iconic crisp refreshing taste of Sprite with an exciting twist of smooth vanilla," the description says. "The result? A scintillating beverage that promises to delight and refresh customers, making it the MUST-HAVE drink of the season."

Well, the Coca-Cola Company, which makes Sprite, has an announcement it'd like to make.

"We are excited to announce year two of Sprite Vanilla Frost!" someone from the Coca-Cola Company told PEOPLE.

The much-anticipated flavor has been brought back just in time for the holiday season. But with all good things in life, there's a catch. Details are below.

How Long Will the Flavor Be Available?

While some of Sprite's limited-edition flavors, like Winter Spiced Cranberry, receive a full marketing rollout, fans discovered the return of Vanilla Frost on Reddit.

One fan wrote, "Wow that's really cool, I've never seen or even knew that a vanilla flavored lemon-lime soda existed..now I gotta try it."

Another added, "It tastes like drinking a vanilla tootsie roll."

If you're ready to experience what a vanilla Tootsie Roll tastes like, we're happy to share that you've got some time. The flavor will be available through Feb. 6.

Sprite Vanilla Frost Is Only Available at One Grocery Chain

If you were about to head to your favorite convenience store to pick up one or 10 bottles of Sprite Vanilla Frost, hold on. Unfortunately, only one retailer is carrying the limited edition flavor.

Fans can only find Vanilla Frost at the Kroger family of stores. This includes Fry's, Ralph's, and Smith's. Click here to see what stores near you are carrying it.

This isn't the first time Sprite has done something like this. Earlier this year, Strawberry Kiwi was added to the brand's Chill lineup. Described as "a lemon-lime burst of crispness paired with a unique blend of citrusy and strawberry flavors," fans could only get it at Walmart.
