Randy Travis continues to astound his fans 12 years after his stroke.

A few weeks ago, we reported that after Travis suffered a 2012 stroke, doctors urged his wife, Mary, to "pull the plug." However, she saw that the "Forever and Ever, Amen" singer was still fighting.
She then told the doctors they were "going to fight with him."
"And I knew at that point in time, because he had every odd in the world against him, and he wasn't giving up," said Mary. "And I was so encouraged by that, to be honest. He was my inspiration."
Travis continues to make progress. He now connects with audiences through a show that highlights the singer's iconic career. Then on Sep. 15, he shared a video of himself and superstar Tim McGraw backstage. They are both singing his 1985 hit "On the Other Hand." And to be honest, it's really brightened our day.
The Video of Randy Travis and Tim McGraw Singing Gave Fans Chills
In the clip, McGraw leads Travis through the ballad. You can see the 66-year-old smiling as the words come to him.
What makes the video all the more remarkable is that Travis suffers from a condition called aphasia. It affects his ability to speak and sing. While he is clearly joining McGraw in the performance, Travis now has to make music using artificial intelligence. When Randy and his wife tour for his show, the songs are performed by James Dupré.
Joining the legendary duo is Timothy Wayne, McGraw's nephew. He is a student at Louisiana State University and opened for his uncle during his "Standing Room Only" tour this year.
Travis gave the young singer an endorsement in the post's caption:
"A moment we'll never forget...@TheTimMcGraw is one of the best out there! And how about his nephew @TimothyWayne?! Y'all go check him out."
Fans couldn't believe what they were seeing. "2 of my favorite artists! I got chills," wrote one fan. "I like it, I love it, I want some more of it," added another.
Travis Recently Received a Huge Honor
Several weeks ago, Travis was honored with the ACM Milestone Award, for which he received a standing ovation.
Said his wife Mary of the award, "Well, the Milestone Award, I guess just the terminology itself 'milestone' means a lot of different things based on the roads that Randy has traveled, the things that he's done, the things he's accomplished, and the things he's been through as far as his viral cardiomyopathy living through that, the massive stroke living through, there's just a whole lot wonderful milestones in Randy Travis's life."
