Tim McGraw Reveals The One TV Role He Will Never, Ever Take

Tim McGraw admits he loves being an actor, almost as much as he loves being a country music artist. But in spite of his love of being on camera, McGraw reveals there is one TV role that he will never, ever take: being on a reality TV show about his own life.

Fans would likely love to see what life is like with McGraw and his wife, Faith Hill, behind the scenes. Unfortunately, the chances of that happening are highly unlikely.

"No effing way, because we're too private," McGraw explains. "We're homebodies. If we're not working, we're in our sweats, watching something on Netflix."

Hill seems to have largely retired from the spotlight. But McGraw is still moving full-speed ahead with his own career. He currently has a Top 40 single with "Paper Umbrellas," his collaboration with Parker McCollum.

What Tim McGraw Says About Singing and Acting

McGraw has appeared in hit movies like The Blind Side, Friday Night Lights, Four Christmases and more. He also starred opposite Hill in the Yellowstone spin-off, 1883. But for McGraw, being an artist will always take precedence over being an actor.

"Singing is my first love for sure," McGraw says. "I wouldn't have been able to get into acting without having some hit records first, I guess. But acting's hard. It's not easy. People think that it's easy, and it's not. When you're on set and the cameras start rolling and you're standing there with some legends that you're having to act with, it can tighten you up just a little bit."

McGraw was quite content with being a successful country music singer. In fact, his first movie role, in Black Cloud in 2004, McGraw now says he didn't want to take.

"I wasn't looking do to movies. In fact, I kind of got cornered into the first one I did," McGraw tells Tracy Lawrence on his Road House podcast (via American Songwriter).

"I played Arizona, and Rick Schroder, one of the nicest guys in the world, came to my show," he continues. "He came to my dressing room and started talking to me, and he says, 'I'm doing my very first direction on this movie called Black Cloud, and I'd really like you to play the sheriff in it.'"
