Now I get that he's a polarizing figure. He's got a mostly male audience, and he has a habit of bringing on all sorts of guests. But when I say all sorts of guests, it truly is everyone all over the place.
Joe Rogan has had the uber famous on his podcast in every aspect of life. The list is actually wild when you break it down. He's had Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Elon Musk, Bill Burr, Mike Tyson, Theo Von, I mean, the list goes on and on and on.

I actually keep rubbing my eyes, looking at this fact. There just isn't a world in which Joe Rogan doesn't have one of the most influential podcasts out there.
Even if he's not your favorite guy, TIME has to look at the facts at some point, right?
His episodes continuously garner tens of thousands of views. But nooooo, there is no way that he shaped the genre in any way. He definitely doesn't have any influence in the podcasting genre. I agree TIME.
The Joe Rogan Experience has been around since 2009. That's over a decade and a half that this show has been dominating the airwaves.
Oh, did I mention he's also already signed multiple 200-million-plus dollar deals with Spotify? No? Oh, well, he did that too. Feels pretty influential to me.
How Did He Miss The Criteria?
Can I let you in on a little secret? He didn't. Let's just look at what some of those criteria are.
According to the website itself, "Much of collating this list, when it came to this particular breed of pod, involved sorting out who can conduct an insightful interview or piece together a compelling monologue from who is just a big name."
Who can conduct an insightful interview or piece together a compelling monologue. That sounds familiar....where have I seen those two boxes being checked before? Oh yeah, on one of the most watched podcasts on the planet that also holds viewership for its entire 3+ hour span sometimes.
Sounds compelling to me. Just because you don't like Joe Rogan doesn't mean you leave out his incredible podcast.
