Timothee Chalamet Ridiculed Online After Oscars Outfit Compared To 'Curious George' Character

Yellow is a pretty divisive color to wear. Some people love it, and others think it's disgusting. So, when Timothee Chalamet turned up to the Oscars dressed head to toe in banana smoothie yellow, people had quite a lot to say. They're so mean.

I always love it when someone shows up to an award ceremony in something completely bonkers. Jaden Smith might have gotten a ton of ridicule for his Grammy's house hat, but it killed me. 2001 also saw Bjork wearing a whole swan, which has gone down as one of the most iconic outfits of all time.

In comparison, Timothee Chalamet turning up to the Oscars in a yellow suit isn't all that crazy. But the internet did its thing anyway, comparing him to the Yellow Man in Curious George or banana-flavored Laffy Taffy.

I am no fan of yellow as a colour for clothing, but the suit itself is pretty fly. The yellow two-piece is made of leather and complemented by a yellow silk shirt. It's a piece by Givenchy, and in any other color, may have been quite the hit. However, instead, Chalamet is being compared to a banana smoothie for his Oscars outfit.

Internet Is Merciless To Timothee Chalamet

If you ever want to feel terrible about yourself, see what the internet has to say about you. Nobody is nice.

People have gone in on Chalamet for his Oscars outfit.

"Why is Timothee Chalamet dressed like the man in the yellow hat from Curious George?" another comments, mirroring the general consensus.

However, some have speculated that Chalamet was trying to manifest using his Oscars outfit. As one X user pointed out, he came dressed as the Oscar trophy. The yellow suit makes him glow golden, akin to the statue.

Either way, he went all out with his glaring yellow outfit. Sadly, though, he didn't win anything yet again, despite being nominated for his role in A Complete Unkown. It was a surprise not to see anything come of Dune: Part Two either, but hey, everyone knows the Oscars are rigged anyway, right?
