Tom Brady occupies a very special place in pop culture. He is perhaps the greatest quarterback in NFL history. Many call him the Greatest of All Time, also known as the G.O.A.T. Brady, 48, worked his wonders with the New England Patriots first, then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, earning a total of seven Super Bowl rings and setting numerous long-standing records. Off the field, Brady's high-profile marriage to supermodel Gisele Bundchen made loads of headlines, as did their divorce in 2022.

The former QB was memorably roasted in 2024, getting subjected to a flurry of pointed wisecracks that some felt he might have minded. It got wide exposure when Netflix showed it with the title The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady. When Brady was recently a guest on Shaquille O'Neal's The Big Podcast, he downplayed the notion that he harbored any ill-will about the digs made at his expense.
Brady Explained Why He Was Unfazed by the Humorous Jabs at His Roast
Per The Big Podcast, Tom Brady flatly denied that he was stewing about being skewered at the roast. In fact, he said he viewed the witticisms as a sign of friendship. Brady shared, "No, I wasn't mad. I thought like... because, and you would appreciate this too, I love being made fun of. Because when they make fun of you, you know they're comfortable with you. If they're comfortable with you, they make fun of you, then you know you're really friends."
He Said Pro Athletes Often Make Fun of Each Other
Brady added, "I think people that never make fun of you, they're so well behaved, I'm like, man, is this real or not? Like, in a locker room, all you do is make fun of people. I've made every joke of Gronk [former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski] and Julian {Edelman, former Patriots wide receiver]... everybody. It's just, that's what we do. And then when we did that in the roast, it was funny, because you know that all those guys that are doing that are your brothers."
Tom Brady was widely respected for being a class act during his playing days. It seems like he still is.
