Top 5 Country Songs Of The Past Week — The Best Of The Week (July 10 Edition)

Although this week has been a little more barren for country music releases as past weeks, we still have our top five. Let's get into it.

Last week's list was far more difficult to put together.

Our Spotify playlist, as always, has been updated again with the following five songs. Make sure to save it! We're nearing 100 songs now...

Crack open that Thursday beer and listen on.

1. Elizabeth

"Elizabeth" by Maygen & The Birdwatcher takes the top spot this week. The infectious and fun country vibes of this song are uplifting and heartfelt.

It's a solid track that does what it does well. This song jumped out to me the moment I pressed play, and it didn't lose my undivided attention.

2. Travelling On

"Travelling On" by Sunny Sweeney comes close behind. I have a feeling this song will be most people's favorite. It has that classic sound, and her vocals are smooth and have that hint of twang that makes the song as country as they come.

3. Average American

"Average American" by Colby Acuff is an ode to the average Joes and Janes out there. Released on the 4th of July, the song highlights the normal life for many American families out there.

It's a simple song, but a sincere ode nonetheless.

4. In The Heart Of The Mountain

"In The Heart Of The Mountain" by Ben Nichols is a powerful song about finding safety in love. It's not overly flashy or incredibly deep, but it's enough. And that's exactly what love is. Enough.

I think it's a beautiful song that many will relate to.

5. I Didn't Come Here To Leave

"I Didn't Come Here To Leave" by Chris Young is a country pop song that is undeniably infectious. Although it has mellow tones throughout the song, the party vibe stands firm.

It's an easy song to get along with, though it will grow on you.

And that'll do it for this week! Stay tuned for next Thursday when I'll have more songs for you.
