Trace Adkins Says He’s "Humbled" He’s Been Able To Perform for 30 Years

When you think about the percentage of country artists who managed to maintain a long and successful career, that number is actually rather small.

Think about it: For every Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, or Reba McEntire, there are at least twice as many artists who have flamed out or almost broken through.

Next year, Trace Adkins will achieve a landmark in his long career: 30 years performing. The "Ladies Love Country Boys" singer recently shared what it means to achieve that milestone.

Trace Adkins Breaks Down the Numbers

In a recent statement, Adkins talked about what it meant to be in the business for 30 years.

"I recently read that if you lined up all the country music artists who 'break through at all,' the majority cluster tightly around 5-7 years of an active career. Only about 10% have a career spanning 20 years," said Adkins. "As I embark on my 30th year of touring, I find myself in the single-digit percentile of artists. I am humbled that my fans and promoters have let me do this for so long."

Those are some pretty impressive statistics. But then he also added one more number: 24. That's how many dates he will perform on the new Trace Adkins 30th Anniversary Tour. The best part is that fans won't have to wait long to see him.
