According to a report by TMZ, Alabama, the daughter of Blink-182 Drummer Travis Barker was an "occasional vaper" until she started pursuing a rap career. Professionals in the scene advised the 19-year-old to drop the habit as it can be "so bad for a person's voice."

Heeding the advice, Alabama Barker promptly quit vaping last month. This change in habit allegedly made Barker feel "panicked and unwell" while alone. She did the right thing and called 911. Paramedics transported her to a hospital in LA.

The TMZ report explains that medical experts told Barker she was suffering from nicotine withdrawal. They cited "not weening herself off" of the vape pens as the likely cause. Even though she was only an occasional user, professionals advised Alabama that going 'cold turkey' can easily lead to withdrawal symptoms.

Nicotine withdrawal is no joke and can present itself with many symptoms. According to the NIH (National Institute of Health), nicotine withdrawal symptoms include anxiety, depression, difficulty concentrating, and craving more nicotine. The site advises speaking to a medical professional if you struggle with symptoms. They also recommend nicotine replacement products and to constantly remind yourself that the symptoms will pass.

The NIH also explains that "Studies have found that anxiety is one of the most common negative feelings associated with quitting. Symptoms can build up during a few days after stopping and may last for several weeks afterward.

It Didn't Take Long For Alabama To Bounce Back

It didn't take long for Barker to get back on her feet, and she recently celebrated the release of her first rap song, "Vogue." The song comes with a flashy music video, and her dad, Travis, even briefly makes an appearance during a runway sequence.

The move to rap music is a notable departure from Alabama's usual online activities, which include cooking videos and a "full glam makeup routine" tutorial. The latter has garnered a whopping 3.3 million views with a highly positive like/dislike ratio and thousands of positive comments.
