"Reuters news agencies say he suffered minor injuries," Sky Sports News has reported. "According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred along a busy highway where a vehicle carrying Joshua collided with a stationary truck. The exact cause is now being investigated. There is no statement from Anthony Joshua's team on the incident just yet."

Clips of Joshua being removed from the wreckage have begun to surface on social media. He's seen in the passenger seat. The former World Heavyweight Champion is conscious in all of the footage, but is clearly in visible pain as he's being removed.

Further uploads to social media show the boxer in an ambulance, wearing only a pair of shorts. He will likely be taken to the hospital for scans and observations.

Currently, there is no information regarding the two deceased found at the scene.

Anthony Joshua Recently Defeated Jake Paul

The car crash comes just 10 days after Anthony Joshua inflicted the second defeat of Jake Paul's career. Their bout, which lasted six rounds before Paul was knocked out, took place in Miami. The YouTuber-turned-boxer suffered a broken jaw during the fight and has since undergone surgery.

"No, I needed to do better. I needed to do better," Joshua said after defeating Paul. "It's a win, but it's not a success. I think my coach expects more from me and I expect more from myself. But what can we do? I have to move forward.I have to put that in the past now. After today, you may see a bit of social media ... but for me it's in the past."

After getting back in the win column, Joshua was reportedly hoping to set up an all-British bout with Tyson Fury, if the "Gypsy King" could be tempted out of retirement. However, following his car crash, any plans for a return to the ring will likely be put on hold.

Tommy Fury, half-brother to former World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury, is the only other fighter to secure a win over Paul thus far.

Joshua's fans will now await an update on his status once he's released from hospital.
