Vanna White Shares The Crazy Amount of Dresses She Wore for 'Wheel of Fortune'

Vanna White is like an institution for Wheel of Fortune at this point. She's the last person left standing from an era of the game show we all know and love. Ryan Seacrest does a fine enough job because he's generally good at hosting at this point. I'd hope so after so many years on American Idol. But he'll never quite be Pat Sajak either. That leaves Vanna White still going strong on the show. Whenever she decides to hang it up and retire, the show will undoubtedly feel drastically different in spirit.

One thing we know about White at this point is the unbelievable dresses she's worn over the years. Across four decades on the air, it doesn't seem like she's ever reworn anything for the show. What kind of deep wardrobe could she have to pull out something new and fresh every weeknight for forty years? Now, Vanna is letting us know just how many dresses she's worn during her tenure on Wheel of Fortune. However, you're not prepared for the staggering number she reveals.

Vanna White Reveals The Outrageous Number of Dresses She Wore for Wheel of Fortune

Recently, White and her son Nikko Santo Pietro went on the

Drew Barrymore Show. There, she shares that she's worn a preposterous 8,000 different dresses on Wheel of Fortune. This accounts for one new gown for every episode since 1982.

Naturally, Barrymore inquires if she takes any of them home for herself. Vanna sighs that wearing dresses for fun sounds dreadful since it's a work thing for her. Moreover, she adds that they won't let her take any of them home even if she wanted. However, they do let White grab one for any industry events. "Because we get dressed up to work. That's the last thing we wanna do when we're at home," Vanna says. "I don't get to keep them, but they do let me borrow them for [events]. The Emmys or whatever... Every day a different dress for all of these years. 42 years."
