American Murder: Gabby Petito, is currently trending on Netflix and has hit murder porn enthusiasts right in their cold twisted hearts. This time, it seems, the Netflix documentary mill has hit the mark. The story, about a woman murdered by her boyfriend, has got people riled up.
The murder of Gabby Petito is a sad but not uncommon one. The young woman was reported missing. Her boyfriend was considered a person of interest, but his parents wouldn't cooperate. Eventually, her remains turned up, and her boyfriend became the main suspect.
Eventually, his remains were found. It turned out he committed suicide. His possessions included a notebook admitting to the murder of Gabby Petito. This upset a lot of viewers.
The Gabby Petito Documentary Was Too Much Even For Hardened Murder Enthusiasts
People flocked to social media to voice their outrage and disgust at the murder of Gabby Petito. A lot of the shock is due to the fact that the boy's parents were never charged. Despite the fact that notes alluding to their involvement were found, nothing came of it.
"Can we just talk about the letter Brian's mom wrote 'If you need to dispose of a body, I'll show up with a shovel and garbage bags.' But didn't charge them especially when the signs were all there," one stunned viewer posted on X.
There are many people noting the unsurprising incompetence of the police in the Gabby Petito case too. "5 seconds into the series and I'm like..no. can't. Still hurts. I can't believe he did that to her," one X user says. "Don't care about it being a white girl or people hang-ups are. The police failed her. All they had to do was tell her parents to come get her. She died afraid."
People who watch murder documentaries are already pretty odd anyway. I don't think any of them should feel shocked when a murder case turns out to be horrific.
