The Story Behind The Most Patriotic Diner In America
Gus Tsiorvas is the owner of the Embassy Diner located in Long Island, New York. He shared with the NY Post that when he bought the dinner back in 2022, he received some advice from his father. His father told him, "Overdoing it is the key to success in the business."
So what made Tsiorvas choose the theme of patriotism? Well, not only does he think we are blessed to live here in America, but his family has a long line of police officers in it. He shared, "My brother is an NYPD cop, one of my sisters is a Nassau County cop, the other one is an MTA police officer, and my brother-in-law is a Westbury police officer. We're big behind the blue."
With that much familial involvement in the police force, it is easy to see why Tsiorvas would support local officer. But just how does he show is support and what makes his diner the most patriotic diner in America?

Trust me, you can't miss it. Starting off, right under the title of the establishment the owner placed the words "Home of the Brave." This lets local law enforcement and rescue personnel know that they are welcomed there. Additionally, the NY Post shares that "every open space" is filled with "troves of USA, police, fire, EMS and rescue decor."
Tsiorvas has a plethora of American flags on both the exterior and interior of his property. As well as photos, football jerseys, and various tributes to emergency responders. Anything you can think of as classically American is most likely inside of this diner.
His main goal is to make first responders feel welcome in his establishment. He told the Post, "When they come in, I say, 'Welcome home.' It should be like that everywhere."
