As we shared a couple of weeks ago, Jamey Johnson and Riley Green are good friends. The two Alabama natives and Jacksonville State alumni share a love of golf and music and have a wicked sense of humor.

"There's a natural connection with us there," said Johnson. "I was immediately impressed with his writing and singing. One of my favorite things about Riley is his sense of humor, and he can take as much as he dishes out, so that's why we are always hurling comments at each other."
Johnson proved over the weekend that he could take some ribbing from Green, too. The "Worst Way" singer staged a memorable prank as Green's 2025 tour wrapped up, and it's safe to say that he got Johnson pretty good.
What Did Riley Green Do to Jamey Johnson?
While Johnson performed in Oklahoma City for Green's Damn Country Music Tour on Friday, Nov. 21, Green was backstage getting his prank ready. He shared his hard work on TikTok.
He donned a wig with long, grey hair along with a matching beard to sport a look that could only be Johnson's. Green was obviously putting a lot of effort into the disguise, even trimming things up at one point to capture Johnson's unique style.
"I gotta get some glasses, though," he said at one point. "Because he always wears those glasses, you know what I mean? They're kind of like old people's glasses."
Green then places the wig and beard in his hand and begins imitating Johnson singing the duo's song "Smoke." The clip then cuts to Green joining Johnson on stage to perform the song. Johnson then flashes the disguised Green a big smile.
It's a pretty great prank, but let's face it, Green is much too good-looking to convince anyone that he could be anyone else but himself.
Will We Get Another Duet With Green and Johnson?
It would be great if we could get a follow-up to "Smoke" sometime in the future. However, it sounds like the magic they captured with co-writer Erik Dylan could be difficult to replicate.
"We sat down and scribbled it out over the course of about an hour," Johnson said. "It has an interesting sound to it, with one part going down while the other part is going up. I like the whole concept of this guy not being too upset about whatever she is mad at. That smoke probably has a lot to do with it."
