William Shatner Gives Intense Warnings Ahead of Katy Perry & Gayle King Space Flight

William Shatner is one of the rare celebrities who can actually say they were in space. Usually, you leave that kind of work to the professionals. But he was given that rare opportunity, becoming the oldest person to travel in space. Now, Gayle King and Katy Perry get their opportunity with Jeff Bezos' fiancée Lauren Sanchez as the first crew of all women to head into space. However, Shatner has some stark advice before they head out into the greater unknown.

Recently, the Star Trek actor sat down with Gayle King on CBS Mornings. There, she ponders what it must've felt like for him specifically, saying he looked "so euphoric." William gives a little insight but gets incredibly heavy in the process. "You're going to feel it, Gayle. And I don't want you to wear that dress because it's the color of blood, OK?" Shatner advises King. "We don't want any blood, Gayle."

Then, he ramps up the intensity even further, "scaring the bleep out" out of Gayle in the process. "You're lying there waiting to take off — that's the most exciting moment of all, because the G-forces that are going to be on you," Shatner says. "You're going to think, 'I'm going to die,' But you're not going to die, Gayle! You're on an adventure!"

William Shatner Advices Gayle King on What to Expect During Space Adventure

That's enough to shake anyone to their core, I can't imagine trying to continue an interview and hosting a TV show after all that. Afterward, Gayle King desperately tries to sway the conversation from the prospect of dying. She questions the actor on if there were any nerves during the experience. It's here where he gives the best, plainest advice. "The nitrogen! And going up! The G's! That's frightening, girl! But embrace the adventure, embrace it," Shatner says.

"You're on an exciting trip that you'll never do again. You're going to live through it, and you'll be fine. Just mesmerize yourself," Shatner adds. "It's the adventure of a lifetime, and you're going to see the world like nobody... only 600 people have seen it, and you're going to see it."
