Earlier this year, a man and a woman went viral at a Coldplay concert. The duo in question were hugged up as the camera panned to them, and then, the color drained, and their eyes widened.

They'd been caught.
Or at least that was the conclusion the internet quickly arrived at.

Instead, she's blaming alcohol for the entire situation.
"I made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss," Cabot told The New York Times. "And it's not nothing. And I took accountability and I gave up my career for that. That's the price I chose to pay," she said. "I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really screw up. But you don't have to be threatened to be killed for them."
At the time of the Coldplay concert, both Cabot and Byron were separated from their respective spouses. Unfortunately for them, the Internet doesn't need context.
Kristin Cabot Suffered a Terrible Ordeal Following the Video Going Viral
After the video was picked up by the algorithm, and news outlets began to cover the incident at pace, Kristin Cabot found out just how bad the internet can be. She recalls receiving 500 to 600 calls per day. Paparazzi set up shop opposite her house. Internet trolls doxxed her.
Cabot also opened up on the moment the camera initially panned toward her and Byron at the concert. The couple were not an item, although they were exploring the potential of a relationship.
"I was so embarrassed and so horrified," Cabot said. "I'm the head of H.R. and he's the C.E.O. It's, like, so cliché and so bad. We both just sat there with our heads in our hands, like, 'What just happened?' And the initial conversation was, 'We have to tell the board.'"
Byron has since resigned from his role as CEO. Cabot herself negotiated her resignation. Now, months later, she's starting to rebuild her life after a simple misunderstanding at a concert flipped her world upside down.
