Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey have a vision of a new Hollywood. Back in February, the pair join Dennis Quaid, Billy Bob Thornton, and Renée Zellweger to promote filmmaking in Texas. McConaughey describes Hollywood as a "flat circle" and says, "this industry is like somebody's memory of an industry. I'm talking about a whole new hub for film and television. A renaissance. A rebirth."

Consequently, Harrelson prompts Texas higher ups to take some of their change and invest in the Lone Star state as a new hub for film. "A small fraction of Texas budget surplus to turn this state into the new Hollywood," Woody says.
The pair eventually act upon this desire by launching their own show in Texas. In partnership with Skydance Television and Apple TV, they were working on a comedy show about two brothers. Deadline describes it as "a heartfelt, odd couple love story revolving around their strange and beautiful bond. Matthew and Woody's friendship is tested when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew's ranch in Texas."
However, some trouble in paradise has arose. Now, the show is paused indefinitely.
Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey's Show Experiences Some Turbulence in Production
In the same Deadline report, they learn that production in Austin, Texas was abruptly halted. Fellow stars Holland Taylor, Natalie Martinez and Brittany Ishibashi were sent home. Currently, Woody and McConaughey have eight episodes shot out of ten. However, their showrunner David West Read departs from the creation in the closing stretch.
Now, Lee Eisenberg seemingly joins the fray, best known for creating and executive producing Apple TV's Lessons In Chemistry. At the very least, he'll perform reshoots and run the last two episodes, should he accept. Apparently, visions on how to end the first season with Woody and McConaughey were conflicting. Regardless, the show is paused indefinitely, with no concrete plans on when it's coming back in production.
