After months of ex-girlfriend drama with Zach Bryan, we're finally getting back to the music. All the loud noise and the tireless days on the road is clearly taking a toll on him. It's to the point where he's toying with the idea of retirement, saying in since-deleted Instagram posts that Bryan would leave it all behind to pursue his degree overseas. Moreover, he's only doing a few major shows before taking a substantial break from performing. Still, if this is it, Zach is leaving us with a lot of major projects on his way out.

A few months ago, Bryan posted a voice note of Matthew McConaughey on Instagram. There, he teases a film around the country star following the strenuous recording process of what could be his last album. "This is not a film about a band, this is a film about a boy from Oklahoma. A boy who joined the Navy, with a love of writing. That writing connected with people, a lot of people," McConaughey says of Zach. "This film is about a group of best friends taking a two-week motorcycle ride across America, while recording one final major label album. Oh, and the title of the film you ask? 'Motorbreath.'"
Zach Bryan Teases a New Film With Matthew McConaughey to Pair With His 'Final' Album
I know music well enough to not totally bite on this Idea that Bryan is walking away forever. Too many artists throughout the span of history tease this idea of finality. However, that heart always changes, out of newfound creative passion, something important to say, or maybe just needing to pay the bills. Regardless, I doubt that Zach would ever stop for good. He'll likely always write and create new music. The key question is: will he want to share it with anyone?
In the meantime, we can expect even more music before his alleged final studio album. He posted a snippet back in February, a tender ballad with a group of artists tenderly singing together. In the caption, he thanks them all and teases a new EP With Heaven On Top, "out sooner than not."
