Zooey Deschanel has shared an emotional tribute to Rob Reiner on Instagram. The duo worked together on the series New Girl.

"My heart is broken," Zooey wrote in the caption. "Rob Reiner was the absolute warmest, funniest, most generous of spirits. A truly good human being. An incredible artist and such a playful and fun collaborator. I cherish the time we spent working together and the many films he made that have shaped who I am."
Reiner and his wife, Michelle Singer, were allegedly murdered in their Brentwood home. The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to their mansion at 3:30 pm local time. They reportedly found the bodies of a 78-year-old male and 68 a 68-year-old female, which were later confirmed to be Reiner and Singer.
"Rob and his lovely wife Michele were always so kind and it brought me so much joy any time I was lucky enough to see them," Zooey continued. "I'm absolutely devastated. Sending so much love to their family and friends."
Of course, Zooey isn't the only one to have issued a statement regarding the passing of Reiner and Singer. Both were beloved members of the Los Angeles community and had a sizeable presence within and around Hollywood.
Rob Reiner's Son Is Reportedly Being Questioned in Relation to the Murders
According to a report from People, Reiner's son, Nick, is being questioned in relation to the murders.
"Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed by their son, Nick, according to multiple sources who have spoken with family members," People reported. "Police have not yet confirmed the account...Police say Nick, 32, is alive and being questioned. No arrests have been made."
TMZ has reported that the couple had their throats slit.
"Rob Reiner and his wife Michele had their throats slit by a family member, possibly after an argument inside their Los Angeles home, leading to their tragic deaths ... TMZ has learned."
The TMZ report also noted how one of Reiner's daughters urged the authorities to take a closer look at a family member, declaring that they "should be a suspect." The daughter also accused the family member of being "dangerous."
The LAPD is treating the incident as a double homicide. However, no formal update has been provided.
